Great crawling on decomposing granite. Massive number of harder comp lines as well as lots of scale trailing.
Head out on this 3.0-mile out-and-back trail near Kit Carson. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 hours to complete. This is a popular trail for backpacking, camping, and hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are May through October. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.

Crazy comp lines on extremely sharp volcanic conglomerate rock. It’s like crawling on an asteroid.
Free camping. After about an hours drive on a fire road you will arrive at burnside like. The north and east side of the lake are surrounded by granite slabs. This spot is off the grid and you will most likely be the only people out there.
Amazing crawling on ancient tufa deposits. $15 parking fee is required. You are on Indian land so be on your best behavior.
Head downstream from the silver lake dam. After about 20 minutes of trail you will come to a group of swimming holes. Fun summer spot. Lots of camp grounds in the area.

Candy Rock is a swimming hole. It’s a moderately difficult hike down to the water. The rock is a river polished granite. Caution because it can become extremely slippery.
Slickrock Trail is a moderately traveled 4x4 trail for full size rigs. Loads of terrain to explore.
Meadow Lake Campground is the top of the famous Fordyce trail. Great crawling with some fun camping.
