Absolutely beautiful. When I went a couple had snorkel masks and they let us use them and it was incredible! Definitely recommend bringing one if you have one. The hike back up is no joke though, not technical but a far distance and constant uphill. If it weren’t for the cloud cover I don’t think I would have made it. If you’re in good hiking shape you will be fine, I went at the end of summer which is obviously not hiking season in Arizona and struggled. Saw a rattlesnake on the way back so use caution.
Beautiful scenery, refreshing water to dip and jump in, and a sweet 4.5 mile hike down and up. 25k+ steps for the day. Bring plenty of water, good hiking boots, sun screen, some bug spray, and you should be good to go. Arrive early so you can insure a close up parking space and less crowds down below. Must have a pass after May 1st, 2019.
Long hike but not super difficult. Super beautiful to see & swim!
Excellent place to visit! Definitely a must see place especially if you live in Phoenix. Less than 2 hours away and $10 parking. We got a permit the day before but we had to do the 4 mile long hike. It's very long and hard especially when done in the summer time. Brings tons of water and plenty of food. The real hike honestly starts on the way back because it's all uphill. Make sure you still have plenty of energy left for the way back.
The reward is fantastic. Plenty of photo opportunities to make your IG game strong. Highly recommend!!
Careful, its a tougher hike than most expect
