Pretty cool. Super thick growth, but don't expect to see any water, at least not in July.
Free camping, tables, a pit toilet, fire rings with grates for cooking. Close to the highway, but the noise isn't too bad. Narrow road, definitely not for the big rigs here.
Jones water is only about 10-15 min outside of globe. Its not a super big area like a natinal forest or anything. However its really nice, in the pine trees a creek usually running some bathrooms and tables. Bathrooms are usually clean and stalked. But a great place to get away for a picnic or weekend.
Stopped in for few hours for a picnic to relax. It was chilly still no campers, specially cold at night, OR I would have probably camped it's free to camp. FREE why pay I hate having to pay daily to camp or pay to use an area for day picnic. Lots of great places that don't cost a thing just pick up your trash and take out, you can stay up to 2 weeks at most of these. And the beauty is far more than I could as for, I will let you know come Summer if we camp here, sure I will some point we gonna camp most of summer anyways on rim, and looking for other places to try, to see, that don't cost, nut still have things in area like water station to fill jugs, also free most places, you do have to haul trash out or pay to despise at water station. 3 dollars a bag. However any size bag so we get heavy duty construction bags, very strong, so it was durable, and smell proff if need be so less animals snellibg or wanting our trash. We enjoy the forest and respect It so normal she treats us good. The forest can be resources and can give you lots of joy, just respect it, don't trash it, OR hurt it, simple really, it really does give back to those who care, and show some love to wild live, obey simple rules, just peace and quiet is enough payback but it can be so much more, just look behind the obvious stop smell flowers, and thank the forest for the beauty the breeze, and the baby elk in camp chilling among us all. Such memories and inner peace is all I want and need to fulfill my trip, even if it's short and sweet, I just have pro.blem going back home, we never set a date, .to go home and we dread it a week in waiting to live in this beauty for ever, we are literally pushing those 2 week ca.mp limits or switching sites or lake so we can stay longer, it's just shame we do have to go home it's a bummer day too. Our camp has had 2 weeks to set in feels comfy, you learn thing or two to make it better, got kitchen area, tiliot, dogs on nice dog runs, got a system worked out, a routine, sunrises and sun sets everyday.you know where the cool trails are meet your campers next door, finally got you air mattress full blown right. Pictures, are flowing, no please i don't want it to end. I was thinking living without elec, running water, and doing without or washing dishes in tubs with little tubs of boiling water, bugs, cold nights would get old and 2 weeks and your wanting to go home, miss, your home, need shower, wanna catch up on favorite tv shows, see family friends, everyday conviences, not having to use out hoyse running tiliot, nope not us. We Will stay till we have to go than tear down camp sad as if we're going to jail
The campsites are pretty nice because they have big, sturdy tables and fire pits, but they're pretty small.
The things we didn't like about it were that it is really close to the freeway so you can always hear cars going by, and there's not much to do around the campground. It is pretty good for looking at stars though because there isn't much light pollution.
