Hard not to have a fantastic time at Chateau Montebello. We enjoyed our first summer visit to the Chateau recently. We had enjoyed fabulous visits during the other three seasons.
The $28 resort fee is well worth it. We enjoyed biking, mini-golf, canoeing, swimming, the gym, games of all types as well as just strolling the grounds. Staff were all friendly.
No matter what time of the year it is wonderful to sit in the main foyer around the majestic fireplace and chat, eat, play games, snooze a bit...
Our room was quaint, quiet and comfortable with everything you need and more, including the luxurious bathrobes. The bed was very comfortable.
We will be back!
I've stayed here twice on family vacations - great spot to get away from it all. The spring break programs for kids are great, the facilities are excellent, including the indoor pool. In the winter there are cross country ski trails, ice rink, dog sledding on the property. We even brought our dog once, which was a great success. The staff are great, and the great hall with fireplace in the main lodge is beautiful - great place to hang out.
What a magical location.
The facility as a whole could use a fresh coat of paint, but trust me when I say everything is perfectly planned out on purpose. Dinner was a huge hit.
Great hotel overall. Loved the rustic feel, has tons of family oriented activities, 2 pools, and rooms are comfy. The bike trails are great as well as a lot of water sports. Bathroom needs to be redone...way too old. The A/C unit is very old as well...it did work well but was very loud. Overall loved the stay and will be back.
Another fabulous Fairmont property situated on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River about 40 minutes south of Ottawa. It boasts that the main building is the largest constructed log building in the world. All the Fairmont superb qualities; great ambience, excellent service and fine dining are there. We loved it.
