Enjoyable hike with nicely built trail. One of the most crowded trails I’ve hiked in the Tahoe Basin. Other nearby peaks (Devil’s, Snow Mountain, etc.) offer similar, if not better, types (distance/elevation) of hikes but with out the crowds. The views from the top are pretty breathtaking but be prepared to share them with others!
Amazing trail! If your there on the weekend during the summer there is a great outside grill ran by sugar bowl resort! Such a nice surprise for hungry hikers.
Great hike. Lots of rocks, snow, and water. Don't go too far cause you will need to go back the way you came unless you are heading to Canada if I'm not mistaken.
Fabulous place to hike in Tahoe-Donner area, wildflowers were incredible this year!!
Great hike, parked on road slept overnight, very quiet, summer. Headed up early, still snow on trail, few switchbacks, forest & meadows. Amazing views to Lake Mary & other side of mountains (Donner pass & reservoir) for miles. Can see ski lifts & go under if you go farther than I did. Bring layers, water, snacks, hiking poles.
